You will also need to understand though that with a this type of lens you can either have one that adjusts manually or provides electronic zoom capabilities. Electronic zoom will adjust itself to the motion in the vicinity.

F-stop: As with a typical hand-held camera, the F-stop on your CCTV lens is the rating that shows how well your camera will work in low light situations. The lower the F-stop the better it works in low light.

Mounting options: When looking for a CCTV camera, you need to know up front where and how you will mount the camera. Knowing where the camera will be mounted and in what kind of situation, middle of a ceiling or in a corner, for example, may limit the type of camera unit you will be able to utilize.
